Her mother was Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of mobile provider Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was a director and entrepreneur of an Internet network company was her father. Her family was Catholic and she grew up on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. She was accepted by her parents into the Convent of the Sacred Heart - a religious, elitist and elite school. Her love of music began when she was a young kid. She was taught to play the keyboard and, at age 13she composed her first music. She participated in an open mic night. She was a fan of Queen Michael Jackson Madonna and David Bowie. Upon completion of high school she enrolled at the New York University's Tisch School of Art to learn about music. She didn't complete her studies. Instead, she started the career path of a musician.
